Matt is a lifelong competitive runner originally from northern Minnesota, where his passion for the sport first took root. He competed in Cross Country and Track & Field at the University of Minnesota and the University of Portland, and is a two-time U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials qualifier. As a co-founder of TAG, Matt is driven by more than performance - he’s committed to developing the whole person. His coaching philosophy centers on growth, resilience, and community, believing mindset is just as important as mileage. Known for his positive energy, trademark smile, and relentless enthusiasm, Matt makes every session purposeful and empowering. He thrives on physical challenges, follows a plant-based lifestyle, and is passionate about building a movement that connects people through shared goals and meaningful progress.
